Preschool Program (Lady Bugs)
Preschool program starts with numbers 1 -10, letters in a child's name, and simple cutting skills. As these skills are mastered we move to the complete alphabet and numbers 1-100 are taught in progressive stages of learning. Preschool children are ready for the creativity and self-expression associated with modes of art. Music becomes a mood and a lifestyle. Routine and structure are essential as we teach safety and classroom rules to get the children ready for standard elementary classroom etiquette. Our bilingual focus on both Spanish and English instruction broadens the horizons of our students and helps prepare them for a deeper understanding of cultural diversity. Understanding mathematical concepts, linguistic, comprehensive reading and writing all are part of our push for Kindergarten readiness for all our students. Assessments are done several times a year to make sure that we are on track or accommodations are needed to help advance a child's learning.
Our vision is providing our children with a prepared environment that provides the opportunity for physical, emotional, and intellectual growth. Our aim is to stimulate the child’s development in:
- A more positive self-image
- Expressing himself / herself creatively
- Responsibility and learning to make safe choices
- Sharing and compatibility
All of our play equipment and work material is carefully selected for its value in attaining these goals. Our program is flexible, allowing children a wide choice of activities. A good balance of quiet and active play, both in and outdoors, is encouraged.Children are always around equipment and toys that are safe and practical for their age.
Our philosophy is to give quality care and guidance to young children by supplementing the home environment and providing children with an atmosphere that is rich in meaningful learning experiences during the early, formative years. All children will be treated with respect and at no time will be subject to physically or verbally demeaning punishment. We will provide a creative and warm environment which will include: arts, crafts, music, sensory activities, academics, stories, emotional regulation and manners, indoor/ outdoor play, quiet times, and nap times.

Young Rembrandt -The Power of Drawing
Drawing is the fundamental skill of the visual arts that can - and should - be learned by all children.
Young Rembrandts teaches the drawing skills children need while developing learning skills that give children an academic advantage in the classroom.
Our curriculum is based on an acclaimed, step-by-step drawing method that works hand-in-hand with our original, innovative curriculum developed by a team of artists and educators. Our singular approach is designed to tap into the three modalities children use to learn: visual, auditory and tactile/kinesthetic. Our step-by-step curriculum and tiered lesson plans for a sequential, ordered teaching process.
Ages 3 1/2 to 5 years, Young Rembrandts provides a strong educational foundation for young learners. In addition to expanding young students' image vocabularies, our curriculum helps develop fine motor skills and learning skills that are essential to future classroom success.
Of course, above all Young Rembrandts is FUN! We intentionally offer child friendly and relevant subject matter to spark children's interest and increase knowledge retention, never losing sight that children learn best when they are engaged and entertained.
